Healthcare

We focus our healthcare skills on creating environments that support patient recovery whilst meeting the extensive technical requirements for medical functionality and infection control. Our bespoke solutions are designed to meet the unique needs of the facilities and engineering requirements of each hospital or healthcare facility.

GP Practice Surgeries

Meeting the complex needs of consultants, patients and administrators can lead to compromise and inefficiencies. But thinking outside of the confines of traditional space and fittings can lead to innovation.

With such a highly regulated environment such as healthcare it is easy to fall in to the trap of the technical detail leading an holistic supporting environment. With our many years experience in the sector we feel we are well versed in HTM and HBN requirements and are fully aware of issues with infection control and medical compliance. But a health centre needs to be more. We go further to develop environments and spaces that are natural and calming that help relieve patient stress.

We help consultant teams by developing pre-configured solutions for many of the supporting spaces such as treatment and utility rooms. We bring the collective learning of many projects into customisable room designs that are assured to meet the technical requirements.

Special Care Homes

Delivering value in design is also about navigating and easing regulatory guidance that is also often conflicting.

Our design staff have experience in writing ergonomic design guidance for Department of Health and have designed for the Disabled Rights Commission. Our project experience includes ‘Care in the Community’ homes for Avon Wiltshire Partnership Mental Health Trust and Action for the Blind, Vision Hotels. Through these extreme examples of developing environments that support the less able we begin to refine beneficial solutions for accessibility, way finding, security, management, and resident and visitor experience. As experts we can take a lead on compliance and can argue for best value.

Mental Health Facilites

Much of our work has focused on existing medical facilities were we have responded to the changing needs of service provision and integrated new facilities within the constraints of neighbouring operations and hospital wide organisation.

We work well with the medical teams and facilities staff within organisations to ensure all project proposals meets the often conflicting needs of stakeholders. Many years of experience mean we can relate to the issues raised and offer strategic and practical solutions that keep projects on track. Our specialist experience covers mental health, oncology, clean rooms, isolation, infection control and laboratories. Never standing still we are now developing experience in the well-being aspects of space to support positive outcomes from the hospital experience.
